Dear parents and carers
RE: new Principal for Leigh UTC Dartford.
You will know that Mr Watson leaves the UTC at the end of the academic year to lead the Trust’s largest school in Greenwich. During his tenure the academy has achieved its best results on record and is now in the top five non-selective co-educational schools in Kent for pupil attainment. Mr Watson leaves all aspects of the academy better than when he found them four years ago. The UTC is a united community where staff and students work exceptionally well together.
I am delighted to let you know that we have managed to recruit a high quality Principal to replace Mr Watson. Following a national recruitment search, we have offered the role to Mr Jonathan Kamya. Mr Kamya is currently Head of College at Leigh Academy Halley (LAH) in Greenwich. LAH recently gained national recognition from Ofsted by achieving five “Exceptional” grades in its new framework for inspection. This makes LAH one of the best schools in England and Mr Kamya has been a critical part of its success.
Mr Jonathan Kamya
I know Mr Kamya is looking forward to introducing himself to you in due course. He will be ably supported by Mrs Pamphlett and Mr Alamu as his Heads of College and our wider team of talented and dedicated staff at the UTC. We are very grateful for your support.
Yours faithfully,
Simon Beamish | Chief Executive
