Enrichment opportunities

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Re: Enrichment opportunities

Last week on Thursday 5th March, we held our latest Parent Voice meeting where we were pleased to welcome families to discuss a range of topics relating to the continued development of the student experience at Leigh UTC Dartford. We would relish the opportunity to speak with more families in these evenings, if you are interested in this please do not hesitate to contact us further as your voice is not only appreciated but it is a pivotal part of the development of the academy and the offer that we provide to your children.

One of the areas discussed during the meeting was how we can further expand the enrichment opportunities available to our students. Enrichment plays a vital role in supporting personal development, building confidence, and allowing students to explore interests beyond the classroom. As a UTC, we are always keen to provide opportunities that reflect real world skills, career pathways, and wider personal interests.

During the meeting, an excellent suggestion was raised about making greater use of the skills, expertise, and connections within our parent and guardian community. We recognise that many of our families have a wealth of knowledge, professional experience, hobbies, and community links that could help us broaden the opportunities available to students.

With this in mind, we would love to hear from any parents or guardians who may be able to or
know of support enrichment opportunities in one of the following ways:

• Delivering or supporting a club or workshop based on a skill, hobby, or professional expertise
• Connecting the school with an organisation that runs youth programmes, clubs, or educational
workshops
• Supporting career related talks, mentoring, or short interventions linked to industry
• Signposting us to local opportunities that could benefit our students
These opportunities could take place either internally at the school or externally through
partnerships with organisations and community groups.

If you feel you could support in any way, or know of opportunities that may benefit our students, we
would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact us via email at: info@UTCdartford.latrust.org.uk

Thank you for your continued support and for helping us to further enrich the experience we
provide for your children.

Yours faithfully,
Mr Lawrence
Assistant Principal
